The Scene
The martinis-and-cigars trend is waning, though you'd never know it navigating these smoky passageways. Beluga is no glamour queen, but shabby-chic trappings like sagging velvet couches and red-fringed lampshades give it a certain down-at-the-heels charm. Add to that an inventive martini menu, live jazz and of course, caviar, and you've got the sort of classy joint no old-school Buckheader can resist.

The Draw
As an attraction, the live music comes behind the martinis, cigars and upper-crust crowd, but the bar does offer one of the best jazz lineups in town. Claiborne's Cabaret has a regular weekend gig, and other local favorites drop in on occasion. The layout of the club isn't ideal for listening to live music, but if you can get a seat close to the baby grand, you're in for a treat.

TWO Urban Licks is one of those cutting-edge restaurants that make a statement about almost everything it does. The centerpiece of this renovated urban warehouse space, with its large roll-up industrial windows aimed at the city's skyline, is a 14-foot-tall rotisserie tower whose blue flames lick a rotating set of meat-laden skewers. Wine is served from a system of 42 stainless steel barrels from which it is dispensed into decanters of sundry sizes, depending on the patron's order. Clever though it may be, the system has yet to determine the correct temperature for wine enjoyment. Executive chef and partner Scott Serpas knows how to turn out the food, making the dining a real pleasure. Meanwhile, the place fills even on Sunday nights, making the very high-energy environment abuzz with the sound of socializing thirty-something's.

Desserts and coffee are available as well.

As always, a full cash bar is offered in the Great Hall where patrons can enjoy a lively atmosphere and musical performances by some of Atlanta’s best jazz artists. Bands perform live from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
