McCant is a member of the Impact Church, Atlanta, GA, where he serves as a Impact Kidz Lead for the Impact Kidz Ministry. McCant is also a former 25 year member of Cascade United Methodist Church, Atlanta, GA. A visionary, dedicated, extremely driven, committed and detailed, McCant is never satisfied until the customer is satisfied. McCant began his interest in promoting and supporting HOT events in Atlanta, by joining a group of young professionals in early 2001, who were the first to bring young jazz musician Mike Phillips to Atlanta (view photos). McCant was also a instrumental promoter in working with Absolut Gin, in a talent competition called Absolut Jams, to bring two very talented music heavy weights to Atlanta for the first time ever! The Artist's were Grammy nominated artist KEM (view Photos) and Motown Records artist Dwele (view Photos). McCant has also been an instrumental force behind the scenes, spearheading several other major projects in and around Atlanta, since 2001 and assisting many well known organizations. As a person who prefers to work behind the scenes, Mr. McCant is happy avoiding the spotlight and helping others to shine. "When I help others, I ultimately help myself" Mr. McCant often states. McCant was selected to represent Atlanta in the 2002 Super Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he served on the Event Staff. McCant was also selected from a long list of applicants to join the Concierge Staff at Phillips Arena in Atlanta, where he has assisted some of the world's most prominent figures, too many to name! McCant has served on the Event Staff for the 2003 NBA All-Star game and has previously served as an Event Staff Supervisor for the Georgia Dome for more than two years. McCant states that his most memorable experiences were meeting and assisting Academy Award winner Sidney Poitier and the late great civil rights hero Rosa Parks. "They are both my hero's!" he proclaims! McCant also serves as the Special Events Chairperson, for the National Black MBA Association - Atlanta Chapter. In 2000, while working as a Systems Analyst,with the Business Information Technology Division of Coca-Cola Enterprises, a division of The Coca-Cola Company, McCant founded ATLANTAHAPPS.COM. Mr. McCant states "Growing up in Atlanta, I was always in the mix, threw parties, hosted parties, etc. and developed relationships with a lot of people! "People would often ask me every week what was going on, so ultimately, I created a website, as a way to answer their questions about what was going on in Atlanta. " I am extremely thankful to all of those who have supported us over the years! McCant has been a finalist for the 2008 Atlanta Tribune Magazine “Man of the Year" and in June 2008, was awarded the "2008 Distinctive Man of the Year" by Janee Enterprises and CIROC, for outstanding philanthropic contributions to his community. In 2011, McCant was awarded "Power Player of the Year", by the Black Latino Council, for his strong commitment to make a positive impact in our community. McCant participates regularly with many non-profit organizations and contributes much of his spare time assisting different civic organizations. McCant volunteers with the Adopt-A-Student program and the Metro Employers Association that was founded to mentor high school students and has served as a board member for the Stewart Foundation ( www.thestewartfoundation.org ). McCant is entering in his twelfth consecutive year as a MEA Youth Advisor, at his former High school and mentors at risk young men in the community. McCant is also a member of the Marietta, Georgia chapter of the NAACP. As a person who is deeply involved and concerned about social issues in his community, Bringing good people together and assisting the less fortunate, McCant has been invited to serve on various panels and has been interviewed by Upscale Magazine, WAOK Radio - Atlanta, The BBC - London, England Press, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Rainbow Push Coalition TV and has been a featured speaker and host involved in many other national publications and shows, concerning Relationships, Business and Social Issues affecting African-Americans and ways we as a people can improve our communities. McCant also served as a guest panelist and speaker in nationally syndicated talk show host Michael Baisden's "Love, Lust and Lies" documentary - 2010. With regards to events and services information and promotions, McCant is regarded as a seasoned source for information and currently assists several event promotion companies in and around the Atlanta area as well as outside the U.S., with marketing, promotions and advertising. Through his tireless efforts McCant sees ATLANTAHAPPS.COM as a way to give back to the business community, with the gifts that he has acquired over the years. His goal is to stay involved in community affairs, promote diversity, assist the disadvantaged, and assist the public with life-changing opportunities.
